You need a dog carrier when you have to travel long distances with your canine friend.
It is much recommended for small dogs like Shih Tzu, Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers and other toy dogs, that get tired easily when walking long distances and naturally more fragile than larger ones. Make sure that your dog is comfortable when inside the dog carrier.

Choosing a dog carrier will depend on the personal taste of the dog’s owner. But please bear in mind that functionality and comfort for your dog must come first before anything else.
Choosing a dog carrier also depends on the weight of your pooch. If your dog is very heavy, it may be difficult to carry him in a carrier supported on your shoulder.
Don’t buy a carrier that is too large for your dog. You want a carrier that your dog can snuggle and stretch in comfortably. Place a soft blanket or piece of soft fleece material and your dog’s favorite toy in the carrier.
